A 3.8 GPA is considered an excellent GPA and represents mostly A and A- grades. Students with a 3.8 GPA are often competitive for top universities, honors programs, and many academic scholarships.
Many colleges accept students with GPAs in the 3.0–3.5 range. A 3.8 GPA can make you a competitive applicant at many state universities and private colleges.
Some scholarships require GPAs of 3.0 or higher, so a 3.8 GPA may qualify you for certain merit scholarships.
